Big Mom In A Little Bed...

My baby girl hates her pack and play. So much so that I really don’t know why we own it. We are on yet another trip, and I’m so exhausted with trips, but having put off sleep training until she was almost 11 months old, I finally did it last week. I did it, and while I slept on her floor for six nights (yes, that’s right, I slept on my kids floor)… Anyway, while I slept on her floor for six nights, I sure didn’t do it to just stick her in bed with us on our trip away.

So here we are with her port-a-crib, in a hotel room, and of course her only association with the thing is from work when I attempted to contain her for short periods of time as she would smash her face against the mesh and scream at me because I trapped her in the thing.

Great association. Almost two hours later and she has worked herself into a full fledged scream that I am sure can be heard down the halls, and all this from a child who literally is always happy. Talk about failing.

Well, every mom has her limit. Mine is two hours of screaming from a stuffy nosed baby who has worked herself into such a huff that she can hardly breathe. Add that to my “shhhh” contributing to nothing other than a sore throat and there we are – my limit.

Remember moms, no judging. Well, you can judge, but I really don’t care.

Well. That was the moment. The moment when you crawl your 5’9″ body into a pack and play and let your baby girl snuggle you to sleep. And I thought the floor was uncomfortable.

Judge if you want but I can guarantee I will never regret snuggling her to sleep and hey, if I had know it would have worked so efficiently, I would have done it two hours ago.

Lets just hope she doesn’t expect it in her crib because I’m pretty sure I would break that.
